Here are the most frequent questions asked by our guests.  If you can’t find the information you need, please call us or send us a message. 

 

• What is needed to rent the property? 

The first half of the total rent is due with the signed contract agreement.  The remaining amount plus security deposit is due 10 business days before your arrival.

• What payment methods are accepted? 

We take PayPal or wire transfer to our bank in the Dominican Republic.

 

 

• Does the rental price include the villa and the bungalow?

Yes, both are included.

• Is the pool shared?

No, the pool is private



• Is there a security deposit?

Yes, the security deposit is USD$400.00, and it is returned within three business days after check-out providing there are no damages to the property.



 

• Is there air conditioning in all the bedrooms?​

Yes, there is air conditioning in all the bedrooms.

 

 

• Do you recommend a car?

It is a matter of preference.  A car to visit nearby tourist attractions and beaches or to get around makes things easier especially for families, but many guests prefer to rent an ATV during their stay. We also have a scooter for rent.

• How far is Villa El Secreto from the airports? 

From international airport El Catey in Samana (AZS) is about 25 minutes.

From the international airport, Las Americas in Santo Domingo (SDQ) is about an hour in a half using the Boulevard Turistico del Atlantico highway or three hours using the road through Sanchez.

From the El Portillo airport, El Portillo (EPS) is a ten-minute ride.



• Does the villa have Wi-Fi?

Yes, the villa has Wi-Fi (20 Mbps).  Availability depends on weather and provider. 



• Are mosquitos and other insects an issue? 

Las Terrenas is a tropical environment and mosquitos and other insects are unavoidable.  The villa is fumigated often, but you will find them no matter where you go; we recommend that you bring plenty of insect repellent.   All windows are fitted with screens. 



• Can a cook and housemaid be hired? If so what is the cost?

A cook can be hired either per day or to cook a meal(s).  Please keep in mind you will need to purchase groceries.  A housemaid also can be hired for additional days.  Please contact us for a price (subject to availability.)



 

• What other services do you offer?​

We can purchase groceries and stock the refrigerator with your favorite items before your arrival.  We can also arrange for a driver to pick you up from both The Americas Airport in Santo Domingo and El Catey in Samana.  If you have a need for other services during your stay, we are happy to see if we can accommodate.



• How far is the closest grocery store and seafood market?

The closest grocery store is about 10 minutes by car or 20 minutes walking.  We can recommend and give you directions to our favorite local stores.    Seafood can also be purchased from the fishermen early in the morning in Las Ballenas beach, usually close to Pueblo Los Pescadores which is directly up the road from the house.



• Are there ATM’s available in Las Terrenas?

Yes, there are two banks that offer ATM services.



• Are there restaurants within walking distance of the property?

Yes, there are many local and international restaurants nearby.  Most between 10 to 15 minutes walking distance from the villa.
